There is nothing quite like having your feet in the sand and looking out across the ocean.

You can take a deep, deep breath, feel the calm and reconnect to the simple rhythms of the earth - the rising and setting of the sun, the breeze, and the movement of waves.

Located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (east coast of the southern United States), Nags Head rests on a narrow strip of land. Legend has it that the area was named for the lanterns that pirates and local residents who roamed the beach tied to an old horse's neck to light their way.

Today, it is a wonderland of beach rentals and sun and fun play activites.
